Gradually and steadily a Great country and people became a Corrupt Elite System (CED) that aggressively serves itself and interest at the expense of a great country and the well-being of her citizens – all in violation of the law, oath of office, the Constitution, the People’s Trust, and a Positive Patriotic Continuity (PPC). A country that was the hope of the universe was gradually being left by Elitist Family Clusters (EFC), some educated and not, some with expertise and not, some with transactional love for country and not, some even disinterested of the Concept of Patriotic Countryhood (CPC), with some even willing to sell the country out for personal gains. Compromised are those who have come to lead not for the sake of the people or rule of law, but for the benefits of others. God shall save a country praying to Him endlessly for leaders who truly care and hopefully pray to lead or to be Guided by the Providence of Wisdom (GPW). Humans have notions of a leader but they hardly know who a good one is. Some Humans want to be good leaders but they can’t come to terms with what it means to be a good leader or the sacrifice of a good leader. Leadership is always a vacuum too demanding to fill and too tempting to be corrupted, compromised, or misunderstood. The will of the leaders matters just ask the quality of leaders the people choose or how those leaders fight their way to the top to get to office. Along the way to leadership, if not carefully firm minded, some leaders will sell their souls to the devil or accept to sell out the people. Humans think they know who they are electing to office, but actually they don’t. Humans are not Positive Proof, Corruption Proof, or Compromise Proof, but working progress trying to reconcile contradictions.
It was once said that if only elites from the brightest schools could lead, the country would prosper. It turned out they prospered, but a great country didn’t. The people didn’t. It was once said that if only oligarchs could lead with their wealth and craved power, then business will prosper, jobs will be created, the economy will flourish and boom, and citizens will be richer, wealthier, and happier. It turned the oligarchs, and their Generational Wealth Families (GWF) became wealthier, influential, and more powerful. Under this oligarchy, the people became poorer while apathetically being accused of dependency, criminality, sloth, entitlement, and victimhood. Investments in Citizens Infrastructures (ICI) were never made as promised, and Compassionate Societal Amenities (CSA) or Societal Equity Hubs (SEH) were discontinued, underfunded or stigmatized. Destitution became a recrimination. Wealth never trickled down. Working more for less became the oligarchy misappropriation of rugged individualism.
It was once said that if only a strongman could lead, then order, safety, stability, peace, and security would be restored; that a country’s enemies would bow, that it would be the strongest and most powerful country on planet earth, that such a country would be feared, honored, and revered. It turned out the powerful with urges for dominant control became more powerful in themselves and for themselves at the expense of the people and country. Under this Strongman leadership, the weak became weaker, the vulnerable became more vulnerable, and the people became suppressed, oppressed, and subjugated or relegated to subserviency status; that great country unfortunately became weaker at home and abroad. The unchallenged rule went well for the strongman, but not for the country, people, and world. Without freedoms, and the rule of law, the people are always the victims of strongmen. When strongmen become the law, then the law becomes a tool, a weapon, or Dictatorial Divine Authority (DDA). What is strongman leadership good for? Why lead the people you disrespect or hate? What is leadership if not for the good. But what is good if defined discriminatingly?
It was once said that if only an Average Joe could lead, a person who is of the people, lives within the people, understands the plight of the people, and truly knows what the system needs, then only then will the country and people do much better, safer, and prosperous together. It turned out that the Average Joe was everything but economics, real governance, or understanding how the levers of government and the civil sector or business organization work. He had the power but not the skills of leadership or the support of capital. The people had their Joe but at the expense of everything else good for the country and people. The economic class refused to invest hoping to sabotage the goodwill of Average Joe Leader (AJL). Average Joe had the will to make things better for the Average Working Class (AWC), but not the support of the business community and corporate investment. Without profit, why capital investment, became the slogan. The plight of the people multiplied. Good talk Without economic backing is a faint promise.
Then a time came when the mood was that only if a so called Minority can be a leader for the sake of diversity and perfecting the union, then the country will be united again, love and peace will reign, and prosperity and happiness or harmony will flow from the heavens into the hearts of the living – to live forever in peaceful coexistence as a Rainbow Country on the Hill (RCH). The people had their leader, but the Old Laws and Old Ways made it obstructively impossible to fulfill the Promise and Dream of a Better Day (PDBD). Just the reality of electing or having a unity leader became more polarizing in a country entrenched by faultlines and deep-rooted inequities, inequalities, and injustices. The hopes of change never materialized, the plight of the people were never ameliorated. Efforts were made by the unity leader to better the lives of all citizens just to be met by aggressive disrespectful rejection and roadblock. Still, hope survives.
Time came when it was said that only if a woman was a leader to shatter that Male Dominant World (MDW) or glass ceiling, then things would be better. The people fought for centuries and finally had their woman leader. She had the office, but not the power. The men refused to let her do what an Intelligent Competent Woman (ICW) or mother would do: care for the country, the well-being of the people, to educate, build, shield, humanize, and prosper the nation as a loving caring and intelligent mother will do. She had the will but not the support of the Male Chauvinist Orders of Subjugation (MCOS). Gradually and sadly for the people, in the course of proving to be tougher than the men who saw her as weak, she became so heavy-handed that the people thought they just elected a dictator. Be thyself and nothing less of the good in thee. She tried to be the mother of the nation but was stopped by those with the most wealth and affluence. She tried to please the War Hawks and spend her tenure fighting the so-called never-ending wars. She brought no victories, but power vacuum and misery to her people. She should have been true herself – as the mother of the nation and the statue of liberty.
Humans want leaders to lead them, but they don’t know what they want from the leaders they elect or choose. Humans are sometimes imposed on the type of leaders they should have. The economic and politics of things can hardly be better understood during one election cycle. If cash can flow and politicians can polish their credentials or let the cameras follow them to draw sympathy and patriotism or help them look tough before the people, then they can pull off their Deceptive Chance of Leadership (DCL). Pretending to understand the plight of the poor, fears of the Middle Class, and interest of the wealthy and power, can give a deceptive politician a choice to gain power. Once politics becomes a beauty contest or who is good on camera or who can raise the most funds, or make the most backdoors arrangements, or who can deceive the people the most and get away with it, then the true purpose of politics and value of leadership is lost. Humans sometimes end up with leaders who see governing as a Hollywood Script, a media contest, or a Compromise Hub for the highest bidder. The country suffers when the needs of the people and country are ignored, or when fundamentals of the constitutionality of that system are gradually being eroded by big money, corruption, nepotism, incompetence, or inhumanity. Why lead if not for the people?
The people should crave for leaders who really care about the stability of the system, the Positive Functionality of the System (PFS), the System’s Effectiveness in Delivering (SED), the Positive Utility Value of the System (PUVS), the Competitive Edge of the System (CES), the system’s viability, reliability, credibility, and solvency, or the System’s Legality and Standing (SLS). How can a Sound System of Governance (SSG) ignore, reject, or dismiss the plight of the people and their Genuine Righteous Indignations (GRI). Leaders can be better if the people hold them to Rigorous Impartial Accountability (RIA). Electing leaders for everything but responsible governance is a recipe for disaster. Let competence lead. Let Meritocratic Positive Competition (MPC) rule. Leaders are called upon to lead, not to enrich themselves unduly. Leaders are elected or appointed to fix a need, to heal a people, to enlighten, educate, and elevate a people, to advance an Order, to prosper a country, to solve problems, to build a world, and to pass on something better than was given. It shall not matter the race, gender, or creed of a leader, but their competence to the job, their humanity of purpose, the dignity of the office, Positive Performance Metrics (PPM), Positive Causality Productivity Exponentiation (PCDX), and Positive Constructive Functionality of Purpose (PCFP). It’s not who leads but what type of leadership they are offering or selling. Humans might offer or sell what they don’t have or promise what they can’t afford. Charlatans and leadership are opposites. A leader is not a Charlatan, and a Charlatan shouldn’t be a leader. Why lead if you really don’t care about the betterment of humanity? Humans need leaders, but not the bad ones.
