You cannot see the protest in France and not conclude that the Old True Democracy (OTD) of Voltaire, Montesquieu, Jean Jaques Rousseau, and all the Enlightenment philosophers is at risk. How can OneMan overrun or Trump the will of the French people? If Democracy is what it is, and should be, then the leaders of France by now should have listened to the voices of the People. Even the China that we so decry, had a protest in the streets against COVID lockdown ending of last year. The government surprisingly (to Democracies), quickly capitulated to the will of the people to totally scrap all its draconian COVID Lockdown policies. But look at Democratic France, the birth place of the French Revolution, the Country that inspired Benjamin Franklin (Our Founding Fathers) to free our great country from the British and create this Democracy of our today. If Democractic countries can’t practice democractic principles don’t you think it gives more grounds to the so called authoritarian countries to laugh at our hypocrisy? You should believe in what you sell, don’t you? You should consume what you sell, don’t you? You should home practice what you preach especially when it comes to Democratic systems preaching overseas, shouldn’t we? Look at the People’s continuous protest in our beloved Israel.
