You can’t make an argument by defeating the very argument that you’re purporting to advance. The rationality that we don’t need the police or law enforcement is a defeating argument in itself. Society can’t function without the police or law enforcement – else society eats itself. Imagine a society without the law, law enforcement and the police or corrections officers or judges, or attorneys or criminal justice in general. Imagine what the physically strong will do to the weak or the intellectually advanced will do to the intellectually deficient or what the super rich will do to the destitute. Imagine the insecurities, uncertainties, instability, chaos, violence, destruction, devolution, unaccountability, and fear or rapture that society might endure. Then for once, we will all agree that we need the police – a reformed and citizen awareness police. A police force free from discrepancies in justice or free from political intrusions.
