Just a proposal. All you need to do is not to fire any officer or judge them for the good work that they are doing or divert or curtail their service or duty. All that will be different, is a new name with the objective of Humanity or Humanness added to it – to remind officers that their mission is servicing a humane purpose while executing the laws that they are duty charge. It will help them not to treat immigrants as criminals or outlaws but as humans with human difficulties – needing compassion and Americanness.
