Part 25 Power and Authority lllusionalism In certain cruel system,the illusion of power is fear. The fear of reprisals or the fear of the severity of punishment, reinforcement, or withdrawals forces people into conformity. In humane systems of management the illusion of power is fortified by excellence, compassion, honesty, dignity, integrity and selfless courage. In Cruel Systems of Management (CSM), the illusion of power is driven by the maxim “Obey and live or disobey and die or suffer like nothing any human being had ever seen or heard of.” Corrupting the system means corrupting the illusionary structures of accountability. The system’s illusion of power fear nothing more than corruption. Corruption means the end or blow to the system itself.
